Parks & Recreation Committee Reinstated

Washington Township is pleased to announce the recent formation of the new Parks and Recreation Committee. The mission statement of the committee is, “To enhance the quality of life in Washington Township by providing and maintaining quality parks, trails and green spaces, and by offering enriching recreational activities and facilities for people of all ages and abilities.” With this objective in mind, committee members, Chairperson Nate Latimer, Vice Chairperson Dave Patterson, and Secretary Hannah Lovell, seek to maximize our area’s recreational potential by updating and expanding the facilities and amenities that our parks offer, while also ensuring the thoughtful preservation and beautification of our greenspaces. To accomplish these goals, the Parks and Recreational Committee plans to apply for grants, source local support and engage our community through the development of recreational programs and activities for all ages.

While the Committee is still very new, they welcome any suggestions, support, or interest that any of our residents have to offer. If you are interested in attending a Parks and Recreation Committee meeting, they occur on the first Tuesday of every month at 4:30 PM in the Washington Township building. In the meanwhile, Washington Township would love to hear from its community members about what they think could be done to enhance our local recreational potential. If you have any suggestions for facilities, amenities, classes, etc. that you would like to see available in the future, please comment below, email or call.
