New Truck for Washington Township
Posted on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 7:40 AM

The Township has a program to replace and update equipment on a regular schedule. In 2000 we purchased new tandem plow truck. Well over 150,000 miles later and 20 years have passed, it was time to replace it. We take pride in the fact that we keep our equipment in good condition and always pay cash for new ones. Such is the case of the latest purchase. This 2021 International Tandem will be welcomed addition to our fleet of trucks. This particular truck plows the upper west side of the Township and requires a beefy piece of equipment that can handle the deep snow that accumulates in this area. Today we no longer can sit back and say, oh well we are snowed in so we can go anywhere.  Today's society insist that it can go at any time in any weather. So when you snug in bed on a cold winters night, this truck and its able captian are on the job, making it safe for you to travel whereever in Washington Township. Yes this is your tax dollars at work. The same amount that you have been paying to the Township for over 30 years. The price hasn't gone up, but quality of service continues to rise. Think about that the next time you get your Township taxes. 1 mil equals $100 on a $100,000 accessed home. Let's see you get your drive way plowed all winter for $100. Not such a bad deal afterall is it?
