GROOMED TRAIL LOOKING AWESOME, come check it out

For the second year in a row, Washington Township will be opening the Parks that surround Municipal Campus to that popular wintertime sport of cross country skiing. Due to the generosity and abilities of Nate Latimer, we will have professionally groomed ski trails for all to enjoy. Nearly 90 arces of encompassing Wainer, Inspiration and Veterans Memorail Parks will made available for all to enjoy. We ask that you respect the groomed trails and use them only for thier intended purpose. To keep this groomed areas in top condition is no easy task and with  your cooperation we maintain them all to enjoy. We also now have a designated sledding area for the kids to enjoy. If you turn left at the entrance to Engine House 39 and pass between the two poles with skis mounted on them, you will find at the top of the hill a parking area that is beside the sledding hill. This hill we get some grooming attention too, so the kids and have a winter blast of thier own. Please spread the word and let everyone know that wintertime recreation is available in Washington Township. Brind your fat tire bike, your snow shoes and give them a go as well. Rumor has it that bald eagle nest in somewhere in the Parks and would make for great adventure on its own. Let us know  what you think of this growing park area and stop in the Engine House afterwards to support our local volunteer fire deparment.   Day of skiing, a good meal and great friends, yes good things are happening in Washington Township.

2020 budget
Posted on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 10:56 AM

Once again it is that time of year that we finalize the budget for upcoming Township business in 2020. Let's start right off with the good news. NO TAX INCREASE and NO SEWER OR WATER FEE INCREASE. Township is proud to be able to maintain the level of service that its residents and customers recieve without increase the cost. This is achieved by careful use of your taxpayer money and continuing our "slow and controlled" growth policy. We invite you to stop and see the Manager and review any or all of the budget line items and recieve a better understanding of what each of those mean. It can be a complicated process to balance the budget and look into the future as to what is needed and what MUST be upgraded and/or replaced. We think that the Council has done a great job of keeping the Township running lean and mean. Stop in and let's talk budget.
